Back from the dead: Facebook’s once annual F8 developer conference to return

F8 2011 (From Mashable)

Facebook’s F8 conference used to be yearly. But after F8 2011, it went into a slumber and after three years, Facebook has announced that F8 is coming back. After a 3 year hiatus.

The announcement was made at SXSW by Parse CEO IIya Sukhar (Parse was acquired by Facebook, remember?)

The next F8 conference will be held on April 30 at the San Francisco Design Concourse.

At the last F8, Facebook announced Timeline and third party app integration support (Open Graph).

But this year, it seems F8 wouldn’t be so focused on Facebook. It will be focused on the people for whom the conference really is: Developers

The speakers for the event are yet to be announced (Not Zuckerburg).

IIya said : “This year, we’re going back to our roots and having a pure developer conference,””F8 will open with a morning keynote, followed by four tracks that will cover getting-started guides, technical best practices, infrastructure strategies, engineering deep dives, and advertising tips for making your app or game highly successful.”

Upto 1500 developers can attend, registration details will be revealed later.
