Moves is a fitness tracking app that has seen success in both app store. It reportedly has been downloaded over 4 million times and has a four star rating (Five being the highest).
Facebook has acquired Moves, which Moves had proudly announced on its blog.
“We’re joining Facebook’s talented team to work on building and improving their products and services with a shared mission of supporting simple, efficient tools for more than a billion people,” the founders of Moves said in a blog post.
As people look with Facebook with suspicious eyes, Moves was quick to say that there are no plans on data to be shared with Facebook.
“For those of you that use the Moves app — the Moves experience will continue to operate as a standalone app, and there are no plans to change that or co- mingle data with Facebook.”
The amount of money involved in the deal hasn’t yet been revealed. This is the latest in Facebook’s several acquisitions, with the notable being Facebook’s 19 billion dollars acquisition of Whatsapp and also Facebook’s 2 Billion dollars acquisition of Virtual Reality pioneer, Oculus.
