Saying that Blackberry is going through a rough patch would be an understatement. The company, once at the top of the smartphone market now faces difficulty in even getting some market share.
The Blackberry Passport is a 4.5 inch device with a resolution of 1440×1440 pixels. The weirdest thing about it? It is square (1:1 Aspect Ratio). It ‘s existence was revealed by John Chen in an earnings report.
As you can see, it has something instantly recognizable as distinctly Blackberry: A QWERTY Keyboard. The screen is rumored to be a touchscreen one.
Other specifications of the device (Referred to before as Windsmere) are not known and will be announced at an event in September.
It will take a really extraordinary phone to bring Blackberry back into the game and only time will tell whether this is the phone that will save Blackberry.
