We’ve been waiting for decades for Virtual Reality, and while we forgot about it for a brief while, in recent years the adoption of Virtual Reality actually seems possible.
Oculus raked in millions from one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns, and singlehandedly revived interest in Virtual Reality. Then, it was acquired by Facebook for $2 Billion, giving the field even more exposure. And last year, Sony and HTC joined in for their share of the pie.
2016 was proclaimed to be the year of Virtual Reality, and its now here, beginning now. Oculus has announced that you can preorder the Oculus Rift for $599, and it will start shipping in March. The much hyped-about Oculus Touch controllers won’t be reaching you till later this year.
The bundle will come with the Oculus Rift headset, an Xbox One Controller, a copy of EVE Valkyrie and Lucky’s Tale. Of course, you’ll need a powerful enough PC to actually support the Oculus Rift.
If you preorder the Oculus Rift, you reserve yourself a spot to get the Oculus Touch later on in 2016.
What do you think about the price? Is it too expensive for Virtual Reality to proliferate?
