When it comes to battery technology, since we haven’t been making inroads into increasing battery density (for consumers), we have resorted to making the batteries themselves charge faster.
And till now, we have been having quick-charge technology that could recharge a part of the battery in a very short time. But now, at MWC 2016, Oppo has demonstrated its proprietary SuperVOOC technology, which enables a 2500mAh battery to charge to 100% within 15 minutes, which is simply unprecedented.
It bests Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Quick Charge 3.0 found in its Snapdragon 820 chipset. Oppo is able to achieve this through synergy between the battery, the phone and the OS, which is perhaps why we haven’t seen such efficient quick-charge technology out in the wild before.
