When you look at the flurry of smartphone announcements over the past few years, you will notice an overarching trend: The decreasing relevance of the microSD card slot.
Companies are resorting to increasing internal storage and removing the microSD card slot altogether, thus giving them an opportunity to increase their margins by marking up variants with more storage.
And now, Samsung has announced a new UFS Chip that is capable of storing upto 256 GB, thus covering just about all of your storage needs.
The capacity is not the chip’s only USP. Its data read-write speeds are the fastest in the market, faster than even SSDs and traditional eMMC storage.
