The Oculus Rift is not compatible with Macs because they are ‘too weak’

Here's why Oculus Rift won't work with your Mac

When it comes to the PC Ecosystem, Windows still reigns supreme with the lion’s share of the market. This is why most developers prioritize it first and other operating systems later.

This is even more evident when it comes to PC Gaming, since only a fraction of Windows games ever reach the Mac. And now, Oculus, the Virtual Reality pioneer has revealed why it won’t be supporting OSX.

It turns out it is not because they don’t want to spent time and money making an app for an OS that has less market share. It is because none of the Macs released till now are actually powerful enough to run the Oculus Rift, according to Palmer Luckey of Oculus.

“If they ever release a good computer, we will do it,” Palmer said.

And since Virtual Reality depends on powerful hardware, and since it is an environment where even the slightest lag is immediately noticeable, Oculus’ decision is perhaps for the best. What do you think?
