Predicting future products by spotting company patents is a tricky business. More often than not, these companies are just exploring ideas and patent them to be on the safe side, and these concepts never actually materialize.
Apple has seemingly filed a patent in this category, introducing the possibility of an iPhone with a wrap-around display. It seems the home-button is also gone. It is not a stretch to say that the home-button is an intrinsic part of the iPhone brand.
Of course, one has to wonder about the practicality of such an iPhone. The first concern is the durability of a phone with a display wrapped around it, because as we know, when a smartphone falls, the first thing to go is the display.
Secondly, Apple needs to solve several problems to make using this device actually practical. Even if it does that, what would be the use of a wrap-around display?
What do you think?
