Usually the most fragile part of any device is its display, and over the past few years, companies like Gorilla Glass have been making strides into making the display tougher, making the devices themselves more durable.

Sapphire Glass has emerged as a competitors to Gorilla Glass, as its manufacturing complexity and cost are reducing year by year. Sapphire Glass is much more scratch resistant than Gorilla Glass, while Gorilla Glass is better at surviving falls.

Now Corning (the company behind Gorilla Glass) is unveiling the SR+, a new glass made for smartwatches. It is said to be more scratch resistant than Gorilla Glass, while being just as shatter-resistant.
