The biggest multiplayer Pokemon game in existence enters a new era

A battle in Pokémon Crystal.

Twitch.tv was host to the biggest Pokemon multiplayer game  of all time (Over 100, 000!) which recently ended with the defeat of the Elite Four.

The game involved the use of the comment system to give commands to the game. Anyone could join ( Yes, you could too). Initially the game allowed every comment to be passed on as a command to the game. But after too many conflicting moves which resulted in the game’s character moving back and forth and Twitch’s servers being bogged down, Twitch introduced a system in which a command was voted for and the most popular command will be passed on to the game.

Twitch earlier hosted Pokemon Red and has restarted the Pokemon saga with Pokemon Crystal.  You can join too, you just need to enter the command you want in the comments. Yeah, it is still following a voting system.

The game began on Sunday morning at 7:AM ET time.

What are you waiting for? Just go and join one of the greatest events mankind can bear witness to…
