Motorola : Brace yourselves, Motorola smartwatch coming in 2014

Motorola smartwatch will be unveiled 'within months'

At MWC 2014, Motorola announced that it is currently developing a smartwatch that “addresses many real world issues like design and battery life”

Motorola had already released a watch-style activity tracker before ( Motorola ACTV), but it was ridiculed for being chunky and finally removed from production.

Smartwatches currently have poor design ( With the exception of the Galaxy FIT, maybe) but the issues that plague almost all smartwatches today , is battery life.

In order for a smartwatch to truly achieve it’s purpose, it should just blend in. And we don’t see that happening with smartwatches constantly bothering us about ‘low battery’. Smartwatches should be charged very rarely. Like , you can just charge it once and forget about it .

If Motorola’s smartwatch will be able to solve these issues and not introduce new ones, ofcourse, then Motorola’s smartwatch is almost guaranteed to be a hit.

But Motorola has to move fast. With Google too confirming the possibilities of a Google Smartwatch and an Apple smartwatch on the horizon, Motorola has to quickly get it’s smartwatch out to the public.

Currently the market is being dominated by PebbleSamsung has made it’s move, too. We will see whether Motorola’s smartwatch can compete with the other players in the market.
